This issue of Mother Tongue, reports progress made in our national-level partnerships. That is, to what extent are we shifting the strategic orientation of our partnerships from the external to the national? How is this reflected in our relations with Ghanaian Churches?
It documents a significant shift in domestic partnerships, with our relationship with the churches witnessing a degree of intensity and formalization that did not exist in the past.
But this new direction also includes partnerships with non- church institutions in Ghana that are enabling us to extend the relevance and impact of our work. For instance, in the field of basic education, we are partners in an FHI360-led consortium, that is working with the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to implement a USAID-Government of Ghana program aimed at improving reading in Ghanaian schools.
